Hello! I'm Miriam, a freelance designer based in Manchester
I trained as a surface pattern designer at Leeds Arts University, graduating in 2018. The majority of my week is spent designing commercial prints for fashion and homeware (under Miriam Flower Studio).
My personal practice is influenced by my love of colour and print making; as well as my interest in Brutalist and Modernist architecture. Often exploring themes of concrete textures and architectural forms, I create collages, paintings and textiles.
I love collaborating and I have worked with musicians to create cover artworks, created bespoke artwork/ homeware for people’s homes and have also exhibited self directed projects. Sustainability is important to my practice; I try and always make decisions with this in mind.
Through my practice I hope to create work people enjoy having around them.
